近期，关于Longhorn，X64系统的新闻不断涌现。在上周，Windows Server 2003 SP1发布了，而Windows Server 2003的下一个更新版也即将开始公测。

　　到今年末，Windows Server用户将有望看到Windows Server 2003的下一个重要更新版本（代号"R2"）。"R2"版在SP1的基础上，还增添了独有功能，它们都支持选择性安装。

　　Windows Server 2003 "R2"发布初期，受Software Assurance（软件保证）或Enterprise Agreements（企业协议）保护的服务器用户将有资格免费获得"R2"。当"R2"普及后，大众用户可通过定购获得"R2"。另外，用户还可以购买服务器版权来获得"R2"版的功能。此外，Windows Server 2003 "R2"要求用户拥有与Windows Server 2003原版相同的客户访问权（CAL）。

　　Windows Server 2003 "R2" Beta 2是"R2"的最新候选版，大家可以按照以下步骤获得之：
　　1. 登陆http://beta.microsoft.com
　　2. 输入合法.Net Passport
　　3. 点击GuestID
　　4. 输入'R2B2Beta' (大小写敏感)
　　5. 完成左侧面板的统计
　　成功参与的用户将在2周后收到另外的邮件通知。
